Small Dots

This abstract pattern of tiny round dots is painted with ink to give them their lively character. The pattern reflects Helene Blanche’s interest in historic references – the Small Dots Collection being inspired by a French textile sample book from 1863. The pattern is an interpretation of a French polka dot, composed as an organic sphere of hand-painted dots, paying homage to a wide-spread tradition: ‘Polka-dot’ fabrics were part of a massive trend in the mid-19th century, spreading from its peasant roots in Central Europe to Paris, London and later the United States. Like all the Helene Blanche wallpapers, Small Dots is produced by British craftsmen, who are proud to celebrate the skills they have obtained to produce their beautiful wallpapers since 1838.
